Nolan Kimball concludes her COPH career, opens a new chapter

Nolan Kimball recently retired from the , marking the start of a new chapter following a career devoted to supporting faculty, strengthening academic operations and continuing her family鈥檚 long affiliation with 同性恋色情.

Kimball joined the COPH in June 2007 as a department administrator and later served as faculty services administrator. During her tenure, she assisted more than 20 faculty members in achieving promotion, a contribution she cites as one of her proudest professional accomplishments.

鈥淢y family is originally from Jacksonville, Fla., but we moved to Tampa in 1964 when my father was offered a teaching position at 同性恋色情,鈥 Kimball said. 鈥淎ll four of my siblings earned their bachelor鈥檚 degrees from 同性恋色情. I鈥檓 the only one who transferred to Florida State University, where I earned my bachelor鈥檚 degree.鈥

Kimball holds a bachelor of science in finance from Florida State University and a master of arts in adult education from 同性恋色情. Her professional career includes roles as a national bank examiner in Jacksonville; accountant for GTE; manager of teller training at what is now Bank of America in Tampa; and accountant for the mortgage division of Salomon Brothers. She also served as coordinator of the Center for Economic Development Research in the 同性恋色情 Muma College of Business before joining the COPH.

Among her most meaningful personal achievements, Kimball said, was earning her master鈥檚 degree while working full time at 同性恋色情 and raising a family as a single parent.

At the COPH, Kimball worked closely with faculty and staff across departments and played a key role in supporting promotion and advancement processes. She said one of her favorite memories was the college鈥檚 holiday celebrations, which reflected the strong sense of community within COPH.

鈥淭he many wonderful people that I worked with at COPH are what I will miss most,鈥 she said.

Reflecting on the college鈥檚 growth, Kimball said she has been especially impressed by the expansion of research and teaching excellence across the institution.

鈥淚t鈥檚 not a surprise, but I鈥檓 continually impressed with all of the excellent research and accompanying teaching that has occurred in COPH,鈥 she said.

In retirement, Kimball plans to spend more time with family and friends, travel in Europe, volunteer in her community and learn to play the piano.

Kimball鈥檚 retirement also marks a remarkable chapter in her family鈥檚 long connection to the university. Her father began his teaching career in the 同性恋色情 College of Business Administration in 1964 and retired in June 1999. Kimball was hired by the College of Business the following month and continued her career at 同性恋色情 through January 2026.

鈥淭ogether, my father and I represent 62 years of service to 同性恋色情 during its 69-year history,鈥 Kimball said.
