Intermediate Music Tech Lab, located on the ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé Tampa campus, offers high school students with basic music or technology experience the opportunity to strengthen their creative foundation at the intersection of music and technology. In this hands-on program, students build skills in beat-making, recording, songwriting, and collaboration through guided instruction and structured projects.
Students are introduced to digital audio workstations and foundational recording techniques while developing confidence in the music creation process. The lab emphasizes skill-building, creativity, and teamwork, preparing students for more advanced exploration in music production and technology.

What to Expect
Create with Modern Tools
Students will work with computers, iPads, MIDI controllers, microphones, and other music technology tools to build on their existing skills. Guided instruction helps them refine techniques and explore new creative possibilities.
Build Songwriting & Beats
Students strengthen their foundation in songwriting and beat-making while learning how to structure songs, layer sounds, and develop original ideas. Projects focus on creativity, technique, and musical growth.
Collaborate Through Music
Students collaborate with peers on shared projects, practicing communication, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. Working in small groups helps students gain confidence and learn from one another.
For Students with Some Experience
This program is designed for students with basic experience in music or technology who are ready to take the next step. Instruction is supportive and hands-on, with all equipment provided.

Who are the ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé Faculty/Staff who will be leading Intermediate Music Tech Lab?
The Music Tech Lab program at the ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé is led by Kenrick Wagner, a member of ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé’s Music Faculty in Commercial Music. In his role, Wagner designs, builds, and promotes innovative contemporary commercial music curriculum, with a focus on hip-hop/rap, EDM, and R&B. An accomplished social entrepreneur and hip-hop artist with over 15 years of professional experience, he has worked extensively as a music educator, performer, producer, recording artist, and published author. Wagner is also the CEO of Project Gametime LLC, a mission-driven organization dedicated to character development and music education for youth and adults. His work has been featured by Forbes Magazine, Fox 5 News, and Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD Foundation, and he has delivered keynote presentations for organizations including the Modern Band Summit, NJSACC, and Boston University.
Are staff background-checked and trained?
Yes. All staff undergo Level 2 background checks and complete ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé’s youth protection and safety training.
Cancellation & Changes
What is the cancellation, transfer, and refund policy for ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé Youth Experiences programs?
If you need to cancel or transfer a camp registration, please email youthxp@usf.edu.
Cancellations or transfer requests received at least 15 business days prior to the camp start date will be eligible for a refund or transfer to another available camp, minus any administrative or processing fees. Cancellations or transfer requests received within 15 business days of the camp start date are not eligible for a refund or transfer. No refunds will be issued after a camp has begun, regardless of the number of days attended or participation level. No refunds will be issued if a participant is dismissed from camp due to a violation of the camp’s conduct policy or code of behavior.
We make every effort to run all camps exactly as scheduled. In the unlikely event it becomes necessary to cancel, postpone, or combine camps, or change a camp location, you will be notified by email or phone. Please ensure your contact information is up to date. If ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé cancels a camp, you will receive a full refund. If ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé reschedules a camp, you will have the option to receive a full refund or transfer to the new session.
